Academic Year Reference

Purpose - Provides the current academic year and its state-configured buffer and grace-radius values, so timings and geofence tolerances stay in sync across the platform. 

Who Can Use It

Any authenticated user. 

Key Capabilities 

• Get the current academic year for a given state. 
• Get all academic years for a state. 
• Get an academic year by identifier. 

How to Use It

The app queries the academic year at startup and whenever it needs the current buffer or grace radius; there is no manual step for end users. 

Rules & Restrictions 

• The response depends on the state code (from the tenant header or a query parameter).
• Buffer minutes fall back to a system default when the state has not configured a value.
