User Profile & Contact Update

Purpose  - Lets a user see their profile and lets authorized staff update contact details. 

Who Can Use It 

All authenticated users can view their own profile. Contact updates are available in the School, Employee, Student, and DHE Admin portals, each scoped to the appropriate user IDs. 

Key Capabilities 

• Retrieve the logged-in user's first, middle, and last name, email, phone, and verified flags. Retrieve public user info by user ID with sensitive fields hidden. 
• Update email, phone, and archive status of a user record. 
• When an admin changes a School Admin's login, the underlying school account and linked employee are updated together. 

Rules & Restrictions 

• Email is normalized (lowercased, trimmed). 
• Changing email or phone marks the record as unverified until the user re-verifies. Users cannot escalate their own role or change their user ID.
