Applicant Registration and Sign-in (OTP based)
Purpose - Allows a new applicant to create an admission portal account and lets an existing applicant sign in securely, without a password, using one-time passwords (OTPs) sent to phone or email.
Who Can Use It
Applicants (typically students or their parents/guardians).
Key Capabilities
- Register a new account using mobile number, email, and the admission cycle they are applying for.
- Verify the account by entering an OTP sent by SMS to the phone number.
- Confirm the account by entering an OTP sent by email (when an email is provided).
- Sign in later using either the registered phone number or the registered email; an OTP is sent for verification each time.
- Automatically receive a session that keeps the applicant signed in while they fill and submit the application.
How to Use It
Registration:
- Open the admission portal and choose to create a new account.
- Enter your mobile number, email address, and the admission cycle (for example, 2026–2027).
- Enter the OTP sent to your phone.
- Enter the OTP sent to your email.
- Registration is complete and you are signed in.
Sign-in:

- Enter your registered phone or email.
- Enter the OTP received on that channel.
- You are signed in and taken to your dashboard.
Rules & Restrictions
- Only Indian-style 10-digit mobile numbers are accepted for the phone channel.
- Each mobile number and each email can only be linked to one active account.
- Each OTP is valid for 10 minutes; an incorrect or expired OTP is rejected.
- An account must complete registration (both phone and, if provided, email verification) before it can be used to sign in.
- Trying to register with a phone or email that already has an active account is blocked with a message asking you to sign in instead.
