Special Attendance Requests
Purpose - Lets a school administrator request that attendance be marked for an employee on a specific day when the employee cannot mark it themselves (technology failure, exceptional circumstance), subject to DHE approval.
Who Can Use It
- School Admin: creates, lists, deletes (soft), and marks attendance for approved requests.
- DHE / Platform Admin: reviews, approves (individually or in bulk), and rejects requests.
Key Capabilities
- Create a request with employee, date, reason (minimum ten characters), and optional check-in and check-out time overrides.
- Track status: pending, approved, or rejected.
- Bulk-approve multiple pending requests.
- After approval, the school administrator marks the actual attendance for the request (default or overridden times).
- Check whether attendance is already marked for one date or a set of dates. View the pending-requests count for the school.
How to Use It
- School Admin opens Special Attendance and creates a request for an employee on a specific date, giving a reason.
- The DHE reviews pending requests, approves or rejects, or performs a bulk approval.
- School Admin marks attendance for approved requests (with optional custom times).
- The attendance appears on the employee's calendar as marked-by-admin.
Rules & Restrictions
- Reasons must be at least ten characters.
- Only requests in pending state can be approved or rejected.
- Only approved requests can be marked as attendance.
- Requests can be soft-deleted by the school administrator while pending.
