National Holiday Check-In
Purpose - Provides a one-tap presence marker on a declared national holiday for employees who attend the school that day (for a special event, flag-hoisting, and so on).
Who Can Use It
Employees (and school administrators marking their own attendance) at a school on a day that has been declared a national holiday.
Key Capabilities
- A dashboard card that shows whether today is a national holiday and whether the employee has already marked in.
- A calendar of upcoming national-holiday days with each day's marking status. A single check-in per day, at any hour, from inside the school premises.
- Location verification (geofence) is enforced, but no timing window, no late-check-in penalty, no check-out, and no remark.
- Offline queue with per-record outcomes (stored, duplicate, rejected, or retry).
How to Use It
- On a declared national holiday, open the app. The banner shows the day's status and offers a Mark Check-In button.
- From inside the school premises, tap Mark Check-In.
- The record appears in the calendar with the time and verified-location badge.
Rules & Restrictions
- Only one national-holiday check-in per day per employee; a duplicate is refused with a friendly message.
- The punch must come from inside the school geofence (plus any state-wide grace radius).
- A national holiday remains a non-working day for every other purpose (absent counts, working-day denominators, and duty assignment).
- A school may not declare its own holiday on a date the DHE has already claimed as a national holiday.
